Wind at the Point Loma buoy sits calm this evening, but that won't hold. Wednesday brings the best mix of the week, light 8 mph wind and manageable swell, which is why it's the GO day. Tuesday and the rest stay in the MAYBE range with choppier wind.
Premier topped the fleet with 6.9 fish per angler on a half day, mostly rockfish, proof that short local trips are paying off right now. Offshore, yellowfin tuna are biting well and climbing, with skipjack and dorado also rising fast.
If you can wait, book Wednesday and run the tuna grounds early. If you have to go sooner, stick closer to the coast and work rockfish instead.
