Request Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your Fish City account and personal data, in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Fish City is operated by Cerity Farms LLC.

To request deletion: email [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". We will respond within 30 days.

1. What data we may have about you

Fish City is a free app that does not require an account for core features. The data we may hold about you depends on how you've used the App:

If you...	We may have...
Used the App without signing in	Anonymous usage analytics, crash data, install attribution. No identifiable account data.
Created an account	Email address, optional display name, region preferences, catch logs and photos you've submitted, push notification settings.
Granted location permission	Approximate location data used to set your default region (only while the App is running).
Granted tracking permission (iOS)	Mobile advertising identifier (IDFA) for measuring ad campaign performance.

2. How to request deletion

2.1 Email request (recommended)

Send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "Data Deletion Request". Include:

The email address associated with your Fish City account (if you have one)
The approximate date you started using Fish City (if known)
Any other information that helps us identify your account (e.g., display name)

We may ask for additional verification before processing your request to confirm you are the account holder.

2.2 Uninstall the App

If you have not created an account, simply uninstalling the App from your device removes all locally-stored data (region preferences, draft catch logs, cached content). No follow-up action is required, and no personal data is held on our servers.

2.3 Revoke individual permissions

You can revoke specific data-collection permissions at any time without deleting your account:

Location: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Fish City
Tracking (IDFA): iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
Notifications: iOS Settings → Notifications → Fish City

3. Timeline

We will:

Acknowledge your request within 5 business days
Complete the deletion within 30 days of receiving a verified request
Notify you by email once deletion is complete

If we cannot complete the deletion within 30 days (for example, due to verification difficulties or extraordinary volume), we will notify you and explain the delay.

4. What gets deleted

Upon a verified deletion request, we will delete or anonymize:

Your account record (email, display name, region preferences)
Your catch logs and uploaded photos
Your push notification preferences
Your usage analytics and crash data tied to your account or device identifier

5. What we may retain

We may retain limited information after deletion where required by law or for legitimate operational reasons, including:

Legal and tax records: records we are required to keep under applicable tax, accounting, or other laws
Aggregated and anonymized data: data that has been aggregated or anonymized so that it can no longer be linked to you
Security and fraud-prevention records: minimal data necessary to detect or prevent abuse, fraud, or security incidents
Backups: data in routine encrypted backups, which is overwritten within our standard retention cycle (no more than 90 days)
