Bass Tub Sportfishing runs a single 52-foot vessel out of Berth 4 at Fisherman's Wharf, with the office at 286 Jefferson Street. The boat is a second-generation Anfinson family operation: Captain Erik "Tubby" Anfinson started deck handing for his father Cliff at 19 and ran the original Bass-Tub for 20 years; he later purchased a 54-foot Westport (formerly the Ghost Rider out of Longview, Washington) to rebirth the operation. Captain Aaron "Moose" Anfinson earned his 100-ton master license in 1998 and skippers most albacore trips beginning in late August. Patrick Harrington, a Bay Area native and former Alaska fly-fishing guide, joined as deckhand and earned his captain's license while on the crew.

Fleet

The current Bass-Tub is a 52-foot by 17-foot vessel built in 1978, USCG-licensed for up to 36 anglers. Trips run from Berth 4 at Fisherman's Wharf and cover San Francisco Bay out to the Farallon Islands.

Trip types

Two scheduled fishing trips are bookable through the operator's reservation system in 2026: a half-day at $128.75 (6 hours, 6 a.m. departure, returns at noon) and a full-day at $180.25 (9 hours, 6 a.m. departure, returns at 3 p.m.). Seasonal targets across the year include halibut and striped bass year-round; lingcod, shark, and rockfish from April through December; salmon April through October; albacore in September and October; and Dungeness crab in the late-fall and winter combo trips.
