John's Sporting Goods has been at 1913 Broadway in Everett since 1953 — three generations of Martinis at the same address. Founder John Martinis ("Grandpa John") opened it; his son John Martinis the second authored the Saltwater Fishing Journal (now in its seventh edition, the bestselling Puget Sound and Strait of Juan de Fuca guidebook); grandson Conner Martinis took over around 2019 after starting on the floor in 2012.

The salmon program is the backbone — Goldstar spoons and flashers, Buzz Bombs, Dick Nite, Point Wilson Dart jigs, Lamiglas Redline rods, Tekota and Ace Line Hauler reels — plus blackmouth and coho rigging, halibut, lingcod, rockfish, crab, and shrimp gear.
