Stabi Dave's Bait and Tackle

Stabi Dave's opened in February 2020 — Dave Clark's name on the LLC, his 30-foot Stabicraft on the boat ramp, and the New Zealand aluminum-pontoon hull on the marquee out front. The naming isn't subtle: anglers walking in know the owner runs a serious offshore platform.

Chris Shadden bought into the shop in 2024 after working a season under Clark; his wife Kira is now the registered agent. The Newport, OR shop carries IQF anchovy and squid, herring in all sizes, crab bait, and salmon eggs — the full Yaquina Bay live-and-frozen mix — alongside crab ring rentals (the walk-in tourist driver in this town), rod and reel repair, and line spooling on-site. Indoor and outdoor boat-and-RV storage rounds out the side hustle.
