Englund Marine

Englund Marine has been in Eureka since 1995, when the family chain bought Davenport Marine and folded it into the seven-store operation Axel and Freda Englund founded in Astoria, Oregon back in 1944. The Eureka shop relocated in May 2023 to a new 15,000-square-foot facility on West Waterfront Drive, with a separate fuel dock at 2 Commercial Street.

The customer base leans commercial — trawl, longline, gillnet, seine, crab, and shellfish gear; wire-rope swaging from 1/16" to 5/16"; hydraulic hose crimping for 2- and 4-wire from 1/4" up to 1-1/4" — but the recreational rod and tackle aisle is real (Shimano, Daiwa, Shakespeare). Grundéns and Xtratuf rain gear, marine electronics, and stainless hardware round out the floor.
