Hook's Landing
About Hook's Landing
Hook's Landing is the four-generation Volaski family operation at 3600 Harbor Blvd in Channel Islands Harbor — a separate dock and fleet from Channel Islands Sportfishing two slips away. Three boats book through the office: the Estella runs half-day Channel Islands trips at around $67, the Coroloma runs three-quarter-day rockfish/lingcod/halibut/sheephead/whitefish programs at around $99 (sanddabs in January and February), and the 60-foot New Hustler runs 22-passenger overnight trips to the Outer Islands at $240, departing 10 p.m. and returning around 7 p.m. for seabass, halibut, and yellowtail.
The full-service landing has live bait (anchovies, sardines, squid when available), an on-site tackle shop, a public fishing dock, and a guest dock for lunch. Captain Chris Volaski runs the New Hustler.
Tackle shop opens 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. normally, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. when boats are out. See the California tackle directory. See also: Channel Islands Sportfishing Tackle two slips away and the Oxnard charter directory.
