Newport Landing Tackle Shop

Newport Landing has sat at 309 Palm St on the Balboa Peninsula since 1987 — sister landing to Davey's Locker across the harbor under the same parent. The tackle counter outfits walk-on anglers boarding the half-day Western Pride, three-quarter-day Thunderbird and Nautilus, full-day Aggressor and Patriot, and overnight runs on the Blackfish and Freelance.

Brand stable runs the SoCal saltwater standard: Shimano, Daiwa, and Okuma reels, Calstar rods, Owner and Mustad hooks, P-Line and Ande line. Rod rentals are $22, tackle packs $10–$20 depending on what's biting. The counter also sells California fishing licenses ($20.52 daily, $69.95 annual) and Mexican day licenses for the overnight runs to the Coronados.
