Tackle Warehouse
About Tackle Warehouse
Tackle Warehouse runs out of 181 Suburban Rd in San Luis Obispo — a small adjoining storefront attached to the headquarters and warehouse of the largest US online bass-tackle retailer. Cal Poly SLO grad Rich Zeilenga and Drew Munster founded it in 2003, modeling the operation on Tennis Warehouse (where Zeilenga had previously worked).
Parent company Wilderness Sports Warehouse runs the same playbook for Tennis, Running, Pickleball, Inline, Ice, Derby, Skate, and Riding Warehouses out of SLO. The catalog runs about 10,000 SKUs, with pro-staff endorsements from Mike Iaconelli, Jared Lintner, Luke Clausen, John Cox, Justin Lucas, Mark Menendez, and Cody Meyer; the brand sponsors Major League Fishing and B.A.S.S.
The retail showroom itself is small — staff pull from the warehouse behind the wall. Open Mon–Sat 10–5:30. See the California tackle directory for coastal saltwater alternatives. See also: Virg's Tackle Emporium and Morro Bay Landing Tackle on the Embarcadero.
