Morro Bay Landing Tackle

Morro Bay Landing established itself in 2000 as the waterfront alternative to Virg's, which had been Morro Bay's only sportfishing operation for 46 years — the tackle counter and the boats sit at the same Embarcadero address (1215 Ste A), no off-site check-in. The fleet rotates ten captains across ten boats.

The Patriot, run by Captain Jay Gavin, is the Central Coast's only crab boat — pots get pre-set in the morning, anglers fish rockcod for the day, then pull pots on the way in (six crab per passenger). The Endeavor under Captain Brad Leage runs a signature 12-hour Cape San Martin trip — first-mover among Central Coast charters on that program. Other captains include Ryan French, Brad Cano, Wayne Blicha, Shawn Stamback, and Sal Rocha.
