Hook's Landing operates out of 3600 South Harbor Boulevard inside Channel Islands Harbor in Oxnard, billed across the operator's own pages and the harbor directory as a fourth-generation family sportfishing business. The landing books three boats — the Coroloma, Estella, and New Hustler — and runs a tackle shop and live-bait dock alongside the booking office. Per the operator, all boats are individually owned and operated and Hook's functions as the ticket agent.

Fleet

Three charter boats run out of the landing:

  • Coroloma — 65-foot, 49-passenger 3/4-day and full-day boat
  • Estella — 49-passenger 1/2-day boat (Capt. Chris Volaski)
  • New Hustler — 60-foot, 22-passenger overnight boat (Capt. Jace Malone)

Target species across the fleet include rockfish, whitefish, lingcod, sheephead, halibut, white seabass, and yellowtail. Sand dabs run January through February.

Trip types

The trip menu covers 1/2 day on the Estella (8 AM departure), 3/4 day and full day on the Coroloma (6 AM and 5 AM departures), and overnights on the New Hustler. 2026 spring open-party rates from the boat pages: 1/2 day on the Estella runs $67; 3/4 day on the Coroloma runs $99; full day on the Coroloma runs $115; overnights on the New Hustler run $240. Charter rates start at $4,000 weekday for a half-day and run $5,000 for full-day or overnight bookings, with a $300 galley minimum.

The crew were friendly and helpful, the trip went to a beautiful location where we fished by Anacapa Island and caught a lot of fish." Cathy C (January 25, 2012) wrote of a lobster and crab trip that "we had a great time fishing for lobster and crab. It was a bit slow to get signed in and we were about 30 minutes late sailing. The crew was pretty friendly."
