Hook'd Bait and Tackle
About Hook'd Bait and Tackle
Hook'd Bait and Tackle opened on Mission Gorge Road in Santee in August 2016, near the I-125/SR-52 interchange — the route most San Diego County anglers take east to Lake Jennings, San Vicente, and El Capitan. The shop is family-operated by the Kachi family per California LLC filings; the live-bait counter is the differentiator.
Inventory leans freshwater: night crawlers (large and medium), meal worms, wax worms, crappie shiners, and seasonal crawdads, alongside frozen anchovies, sardines, squid, mackerel, and shrimp for SD bay anglers. Hook'd is also a Pautzke dealer, so salmon eggs and Fire Bait are stocked for the Santee Lakes trout-plant kickoff each November.
Doors open Tuesday-Friday at 7 a.m. and Saturday-Sunday at 6 a.m. — pre-dawn hours that match the lake-launch window. See the San Diego tackle directory. See also: Slugg Fishing in Poway and Dana Landing Market & Tackle on Mission Bay.
