Point Loma Sportfishing Tackle
About Point Loma Sportfishing Tackle
Point Loma Sportfishing's tackle counter operates under the in-house brand Carson's Tackle Corner, at 1403 Scott St inside the landing — same address as the Mission Belle, Daily Double, El Capitan, New Lo-An, and Sauerfish berths and the long-range Independence, Intrepid, and American Angler.
The doors open at 5 a.m., before the Coronado Islands departures, so anglers can grab last-minute terminal tackle, FMM bracelets, and Mexican fishing licenses on the way to the boat. Rentals are tiered to match the trip: 25-pound light setups, 30-pound offshore, deep-water rockfish outfits, and rod belts. The counter currently spotlights the PENN Fathom OG.
One thing it doesn't sell from the counter: live bait — sardines come from the bait barge to the on-deck tubs. See the San Diego charter directory for the boats running out of this landing. See also: Fisherman's Landing Tackle and Seaforth Landing Tackle.
