Point Loma Sportfishing operates from 1403 Scott Street in San Diego and was established in 1946. It sits on a Point Loma shoreline "once the site of bustling canneries." Frank LoPreste — who came to San Diego in 1965 at age 22 or 23 — is the majority owner of three of the city's five sportfishing landings: Point Loma, Fisherman's Landing, and Seaforth.
Fleet
The fleet runs 16 vessels spanning 44 to 116 feet. Local and full-day boats include the Daily Double, Point Loma, Mission Belle, New Lo-An, El Capitan, Game Changer, Sauerfish, and Success. Long-range vessels include the American Angler, Independence, Intrepid, and Vagabond. 6-pack charter boats include the Carousel, Champagne, Maverick, Baeflower, Got Bait, Seas the Day, Knot on Call, and Chere Amie.

Recent reports
The Mission Belle produced 68 yellowtail for 29 passengers at the Coronado Islands on April 20, 2026, with "yoyo jigs and dropper loops" most effective, and opened its 2026 season March 14. On March 16, 2026 a Point Loma half-day returned with 43 whitefish, 6 sculpin, 6 sheephead, and 5 barred sand bass.
