Seaforth Sportfishing has been "operating deep sea charters since 1960" from 1717 Quivira Road in San Diego's Mission Bay. The landing began as "a local ½-day and ¾-day landing" and expanded into offshore and multi-day trips over the following decades. Bill Poole — later memorialized in the California Outdoors Hall of Fame — was a part-owner of Seaforth, Fisherman's Landing, Sun Harbor Marina, and Marina Cortez by the late 1960s.
